What are your opening hours?
We are open every day from 10:30am to 10:00pm, with the last bookable slot at 9:00pm.
Our sessions run every hour and a half:
Monday to Sunday: 10:30am – 10:00pm
What is an escape room?
An escape room is a real-life adventure game where your team solves puzzles, uncovers clues, and completes challenges — all within 60 minutes. At The Escape Room Guys in Derby, each room is designed around a unique storyline to create an immersive, family-friendly experience.
What age do players need to be?
Our escape rooms are suitable for all ages. However, any player under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for safety and supervision.
What should I wear to an escape room?
There’s no specific dress code — just come in something comfortable. We recommend avoiding high heels to ensure you can move around freely and safely.
Is your escape room wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, our current location does not offer wheelchair access. We are on the first floor, however we have a large stairwell with handrails on both sides.
Can pregnant guests take part?
Yes! Our escape rooms are family-friendly and contain no physical challenges or jump scares. Each room has space to move comfortably, plus seating is available if needed.
Will there be strangers in our escape room?
No — all of our games are private bookings. Your experience is exclusively for your group only, ensuring a personal and comfortable visit.
Are your escape rooms scary?
No. Our escape rooms are family-friendly and designed to be exciting, not frightening. You won’t encounter any jump scares or horror themes.
Are we actually locked in the room?
Technically, yes — but you can exit at any time. Every group is given an emergency exit code, and a staff member is always nearby to assist if needed. Safety is a top priority.
What time should we arrive?
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled booking time. This gives us time to brief you and start your escape room adventure on time.
